I drew our favourite astromech for a “how to” tutorial over on Patreon.  If you not a supporter over there yet come on over, it’s only $1 a month and you get access to my daily journal and exclusive previews of tutorials like this one before the rest of the world.

I’m aiming at 100 patrons after which I’ll be getting a tattoo of the Enterprise on my arm!

You can also buy this original illustration, right here on the website!

Drax – sketch card

The hardest thing here was deciding on a skin tone I was happy with, I compromised and went halfway between film and comic book version.  Drax is a funny one, I didn’t think I’d like the character (and visually he’s so different from the Drax the Destroyer I grew up with) but he really grows on you.

I just thought this was a fun pose for him 🙂

Remember if you dig my stuff and wouldn’t mind seeing semi-daily journal entries which include sneak peeks, behind the scenes and first looks then head over to Patreon and subscribe for as little as $1 (US) a month.

Rocket – sketch card

I appreciate the effort that has gone in to making Rocket a fleshed out character and not just window dressing in the films.  I admittedly struggled with his face here because of my no nose approach and the nose does kind of make him but I think you can still tell who he is.

So I’m finally cramming a little extra time in to draw the new series of Marvel sketch cards that I’m working on.  I’ve got the full list of characters already planned out and I’ve managed to even ink three of them, just colouring.  As with all the Marvel characters, the version I pick is based purely on my mood that day and today was Baby Groot!

Hopefully I’ll get on a roll with these guys!
