In a completely random occurrence Tracey and visited Kiki’s bedroom, over a bakery in the small town of Ross in Tasmania. It’s such an interesting story, the owners apparently didn’t even know they’d unwittingly recreated Kiki’s room until it was pointed out by tourists. They embraced the similarities and when we were at the bakery we overheard another table discussing it, we googled the story and asked the owner if we could take a look and they were so awesome about the hassle of it and let us check it out.
It’s kind of a no-brainer for me now to mention how much I love all of the Ghibli films, I’m yet to watch one that doesn’t charm me on some level or the other. Kiki is no different.
This is part of the 366 Characters from 366 Films project running throughout 2020. The original illustrations go on sale over on the Etsy store the same day (around 9:00 am Brisbane time) and are available until someone snaps it up.
