I’m not a How to Train Your Dragon franchise follower, I really loved the original film but just have no interest in spending more time in that universe (I think I’ve seen one of the sequels, I don’t remember – which is no reflection of its quality!). I think at the core of it is that dragons don’t really do it for me…
Oh, settle down.
I don’t know what it is but I’ve never been much of a fantasy fan and I don’t get the appeal of dragons.
What I do LOVE about this film is that they took the mannerisms and movement from cats to bring Toothless to life and there’s that scene where the hero puts his hand out and Toothless touches it with his head that just melted me. I thought all that was exceptional and wonderful artistry.
This is part of the 366 Characters from 366 Films project running throughout 2020. The original illustrations go on sale over on the Lee Draws Stuff store the same day (around 9:00 am Brisbane time) and are available until someone snaps it up.
