I think the Planet Bajor is one of the absolutely most interesting and culturally rich places made up for Star Trek. I mean all the other cultures are interesting and stuff but a seven year story arc following the development of this recovering planet following a savage occupation and then it’s new found importance after the discovery of the stable wormhole really solidifies Bajor as a character.
Everything we see of Bajor seems very tranquil and beautiful. A lot of good honest agriculture and spiritual reflection. I just really like the place.
This illustration was a bit of a revelation in itself, I don’t think I’ve ever really committed to drawing the architecture of Star Trek (or any really) and I’m surprised that I was able to transfer my style to the task and make it feel very much mine. I really enjoyed the process and I’m really happy with the end result so I think you’re going to see more of this in the new year.
Any planet requests?
