Day 41 – The Fast and the Furious (2001): Dominic Toretto

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I’m free.

Okay, confession time.

I really love the Fast and the Furious franchise.  A lot.  I know it is ridiculous but I forgive it for its attention to characters, its diversity, how it transitioned from car racing film to heist film to its eventual insane almost Mission Impossible level of adventures.

The series has heart and it is so earnestly unashamed of what it is.

So I am also unashamed.

Of course drawing a character from the film was always going to be a challenge because there’s no elaborate costume to fall back on.  This one passed the “Tracey, do you know who this is?” test.

This is part of the 366 Characters from 366 Films project running throughout 2020. The original illustrations go on sale over on the Lee Draws Stuff store the same day (around 9:00 am Brisbane time) and are available until someone snaps it up.

Remember if you dig my stuff and wouldn’t mind seeing semi-daily journal entries which include sneak peeks, behind the scenes and first looks then head over to Patreon and subscribe for as little as $1 (US) a month.
