So during this holiday break, I upgraded from the PS4 to the PS5 or closer to the truth: they finally had some in stock.
The machine itself is quite beautiful and powerful.
Weirdly though, or maybe not considering where I’ve been head-wise, the first game I played on it wasn’t the latest God of War or the Evil Dead game. It was, in fact, an old favourite, “Journey“.
Journey is a beautifully crafted game that offers a unique and calming gaming experience. The game’s stunning visuals are breathtaking, with sweeping vistas and detailed environments that draw you into the world. The gameplay is simple but engaging, with players controlling a character on a journey through various landscapes. No zombies are trying to kill you, nor are you competing with anyone else.
One of the standout features of Journey is the calming nature of the experience. The game’s peaceful music and serene environments create a sense of tranquillity rare in most video games. The lack of dialogue or text in the game also adds to the peaceful atmosphere, as you can interpret the story and events.
Overall, Journey is a beautiful and unique game worth experiencing for anyone who enjoys peaceful and visually stunning gameplay.
So as I return to a previous activity that relaxes me and helps me focus, I’m excited to be painting a Journey inspired piece in watercolour, concentrating on the stunning landscape and environment.
Feeling really good.
