So for this week’s Creative Prompt I took it easy and dredged up an idea I had a couple of years back that prompted me to write a short five page comic.
I said in the newsletter that I’d share it so here it is. The prompt was literally the line “burn it all” and around that I built this little prologue scene:
This was all just purely an exercise to get an idea out of my head but I still don’t mind some of the panels and the pacing of it all. Everything you do is a learning experience and so the next time I do a mini comic it’ll be better or more detailed or different in some way.
If you follow me on social media you’ll know that in the last eight years I’ve drawn two Game of Thrones illustrations and this Arya is one of them which seems insane. But it’s just one of those franchises that I’ve had little to do with drawing wise.
I’ve drawn a little Buffy in the past but not much so it was really nice drawing her in my style and finally Major Kira whom I have indeed drawn many time LOL.
A great set of characters chosen by the client and a great joy for me to step into other franchises 🙂
This was a cool trio to do because I was asked to do TOS standard uniform Spock and then pick two random appearances of Spock. With that kind of prompt it seemed only right to dress him up in his dress uniform finest for one of the others.
I’ve always enjoyed drawing the TOS EVA suit so I popped him in that one as well.
Now I was messing around with the sizes and the original EVA suit card was the wrong size and I really wanted the cards to have a coherent feel to them so rather than discard the pencils I did up an extra card:
Seeing as this one is an extra I’m throwing it on the Lee Draws Stuff shop. It’s a one off so when he’s gone he’s gone and I did let the Patreon backers have first crack at him.
Inspired by the amazing description of Star Trek V The Final Frontier:
Kirk meets God and is unimpressed

I started playing around with One Sentence Synopsis over on Twitter for the Star Trek films and then after asking what I should do next the overwhelming response was the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Far be it for me to argue with popular opinion (I was looking forward to writing one sentence synopsis for the Fast and the Furious franchise LOL) I also thought it would be cool to draw something for each of them as I’ve been meaning to do a MCU theme.
Now thankfully the MCU is broken up into phases which gives me natural breathing points in between them. Now I best show some pictures or I’m going to lose you all LOL.
I love phase one of the MCU, I remember taking the day off from work on the opening day of Iron Man because as a huge Iron Man comic book fan I was stoked to see him up on the big screen. And yeah it didn’t disappoint.
Building up to what seemed like an impossible film The Avengers, of course after the Infinity War and Endgame poor old Avengers looks like a tiny film LOL but at the time it was unbelievable that they could make it so well.
So everyone has been really enthusiastic around these and I’ve got a new option from my printer to do up some really nice matte thick card prints that should make these pop as a series so I might offer them up as a set – break them up into phases or make them available as a mega set.
It must have been rough on the Red Skull when Captain America brought the Soul Stone back. It would be like working the returns desk at Target when your worst enemy is bringing back an air purifier for a refund.
They want their refund, you can’t stand them, no one is happy.
I was aware that Leonard Nimoy was also in Mission: Impossible but to be honest I only knew of the role in passing. So when The Great Paris was requested as a commission* piece I did manage to sneak in a couple of episodes featuring him as The Great Paris – actor, magician and master of disguise.
I will 100% admit that I struggled with wanting to sweep those eyebrows and point those ears.
*Commission pieces are back on the drawing table – I’m working my way through the list again – and I thank everyone for their patience and understanding during what’s been a continuing nightmare LOL.
I didn’t really think about this one being the last in the set, I was just randomly throwing any deaths from Star Trek TOS into a list of 30 themes. I think that it worked out quite perfectly with poor Ensign Todd beamed out into cold bleak space.
I want to thank everyone who has been cheering this little series along and for Matt for suggesting it in the first place.
The full set is still available and any orders received over the next 24 hours will still get the bonus horta print included but after that that exclusive will close.
